Cooperative Extension Division
Known originally for its work with agriculture, NU Cooperative Extension
programs have evolved to meet the needs of the changing Nebraska population.
While Extension remains true to its traditional rural base, it has broadened
that base to meet contemporary urban residents' educational needs. When
educational programs cover the vary basis of life—safe and nutritious
food from farm to table, clean water, a safe environment, health, youth,
families, communities, leadership, entrepreneurship, and more—the
need for knowledge is universal.

Land-grant universities work with the people they serve. NU's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources
does so in the priority areas of food, agriculture, agribusiness, natural resources, people and communities.
We teach, discover new knowledge through research, and extend that new, unbiased information across
the state and beyond through extension.
